THE LEAGUE CUP has always been the odd one out in football competitions, even back in my day when Tottenham declined to enter in its inaugural year. It has been the poor relation for so long, with the top sides giving it a low priority. So I'm delighted to see it has suddenly become a trophy the leading Premier League clubs want to win.
